With muscle tendon ultrasound, ultrasounds (high-frequency sound waves, harmless to the tissues of the human body) are used in order to investigate pathologies affecting the muscles or tendons. It is a particularly recommended exam to better identify:
– the degree of muscle pain (contracture, strain or tear);
– inflammation of the tendons and synovial bags;
– the presence of cysts, edema and hematomas of the superficial tissues following blunt trauma.
